A Wonderful Review

Listen, Like, Learn with Mother Goose on the Loose: Hebrew/English Edition Listen, Like, Learn with Mother Goose on the Loose: Hebrew/English Edition is a fun CD with nursery rhymes and songs sung first in English and then Hebrew. It contains one CD and a booklet of lyrics in English and Hebrew written with English letters. Rahel is very clear when she sings, and I found it easier to sing along with this Hebrew CD than I did with their Spanish CD titled Escucha y Disfruta con Mama Gansa. It was also fun to hear the difference in onomatopoeias. For example, the English drum says, “Rum, pum, pum,” but the Hebrew drum says, “Tof, tof, tof.” However, since the songs are modern, the Hebrew is modern rather than biblical. We listened to Listen, Like, Learn with Mother Goose on the Loose: Hebrew/English Edition several times as we were driving. The music is tranquil enough that it did not distract me while driving, and my children enjoyed singing along to it. In fact, my dad was riding with me one day, and when he saw the CD case, he said he wanted to hear the music. He seemed to enjoy reviewing the Hebrew he had learned in seminary. I would recommend Listen, Like, Learn with Mother Goose on the Loose: Hebrew/English Edition for families with little children. It would also be a good supplement for students learning both biblical and modern Hebrew. My five-year-old said that he prefers the female vocalist on the Hebrew CD rather than the male vocalist on the Spanish CD because it is “more beautiful.” He went on to say that his favorite song was “We’ll Ring Our Bells Together/Kulam M’tsaltselim.” Both Listen, Like, Learn with Mother Goose on the Loose: Hebrew/English Edition and Esucha y Disfruta con Mama Gansa are worth a look.
