Many Hats

My photo
Shalom! When it comes to hats I have lots of them. In fact, it used to be said about me that I have a "hat face". The truth is that I really do wear a lot of hats; Therapeutic Music Practitioner, American-Israeli folksinger, singer-songwriter, teacher, mother, friend, therapeutic musician, healing artist, cantorial soloist, Jew... hmmmm.... they call me "the spiritual one"... daughter, step-daughter, fanatic (of all sorts), straight-shooter... In a nutshell.... I'm a person.

Beautiful Music, Awesome Venue!

Sue and I performed a repertoire of many of my original compositions. These works have been waiting for a long time to become actualized. They are instrumentals and Sue plays them beautifully on her C-soprano flute and her alto flute. We are ever grateful to Jeff, owner and manager of the Drawbridge Puppet Theater for filming, editing and sharing these video clips. Please do not miss the chance to see a puppet show or musical performance, and visit the "Enchanted Garden".

Musical Massage and Sound Therapy

I have been developing a new practice and a website to accompany it. The practice is called "Musical Massage and Sound Therapy". It is essentially an extension of my work as a Therapeutic Music Practitioner where I have evolved my work into the option of private and group sessions. Please visit my new website about this. I look forward to any opportunities to work on a 1:1 or group basis using music in service rather than as entertainment. In addition to evolving a practice I am now also working at a facility that specializes in Alzheimer's, Dementia and Memory Loss. I am gaining a lot of hands on new knowledge and experience in working with the elderly and with this particular illness. It is quite challenging work and the music most definitely is effective with this population.

Introducing New Compositions!

It's been some time since I've blogged. There are many changes in my life, all of them positive. One of the positive changes is that I've been working with Sue Hurwitz, a flutist par excellence. We have been bringing to life some of my rather old compositions from the early and mid-1980's. They've been waiting a long time to come alive. This is because they are mostly instrumental and clearly have been waiting for the right person to help them evolve. Sue and I have had a few concerts this past month and have featured this new music. The clips are "live", unedited and rather raw but you get the idea! We hope to have a few professional clips soon. I hope you will enjoy the music! This song is called "A.C.J. Brazil" because it is inspired by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This next song is actually two songs played consecutively one after the other: "French Love Song" was originally a music class assignment. "Mediterranean Breeze" gave us the feeling of being there.
